Family Farm & Home Family Farm and Home is a family‑owned and operated company based in Michigan. Our first stores opened their doors in April 2002, and we now operate 71 retail locations across Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. The company supplies a wide variety of products in tools, hardware, automotive, pet, work and casual clothing, footwear, farm supplies, horse and livestock feed, bird food, lawn and garden, and alternative heating. All Team Members are dedicated to providing exceptional product values and customer service, supporting our mission to build a family focused on caring for our customers’ lifestyles. In this role you will: support daily store operations, maintain straight‑ahead presentation and safety, and assist customers in finding and purchasing quality products. Responsibilities
Promote the Family Farm & Home mission statement and family values. Execute daily operational goals and priorities assigned by store management. Receive communication and tasks from corporate office and store management via Farm Hand. Greet customers as they enter/exit the store and interact with them in a pleasant, positive manner. Solicit customers to sign up for Family Farm & Home programs (e.g., Loyalty, Extended Warranties, Add‑on Initiative, Financing, Item of the Month). Answer phone calls professionally and assist customers in‑store, on supported internet sites, and with special orders. Utilize POS to checkout customers and follow all cash‑handling procedures. Use On the Go to complete POGs and mass layouts as per the store layout. Use Harvester to complete online customer orders. Explain and support financing options and complete customer credit inquiries via financing websites. Assist in setting promotional signage, price changes, clearance prices, and other in‑store signage as directed by management. Assist in freight, recovery, and out‑of‑stock processes. Achieve passing scores on corporate store audits, assessments, and store walks. Maintain awareness of in‑store safety issues and shoplifting activities and communicate potential issues to management. Uphold and support all company loss‑prevention measures. Operate a forklift and/or pallet jack safely and efficiently (18 years old and above). Assist in building/assembling store displays, products, and fixtures. Maintain cleanliness of the sales floor, receiving, cash office, register area, restrooms, and break room. Uphold merchandising, store cleanliness, and safety standards. Assist in the completion of daily operational standard checklists. Contribute to a positive working environment for all team members. Perform any other duties as assigned by store management or company officials. Requirements
A Team Member must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends, evenings, and holidays. Success in this role requires excellent service and customer‑satisfaction orientation, strong communication skills with customers and colleagues, organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask. Candidates need basic computer knowledge and the stamina to stand for extended periods, reach, bend, twist, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs.
