Delivery Route Truck Driver - Class A / Class B CDL
Toft Dairy in Sandusky, Ohio is seeking Delivery Truck Drivers with a Class A or Class B CDL (with current medical card) to deliver milk and ice cream products to our clients. For 125 years, Toft's dairy products have been a North Central Ohio favorite. The family tradition of delivering quality products, along with excellent customer service remains a top priority. The ideal candidate must be punctual, dependable, hardworking, have a positive attitude, and a safe driving record.
Routes range within 150 miles or less from Sandusky, OH and all routes leave from Toft Dairy (3717 Venice Road, Sandusky, OH) between midnight and 4 AM to meet our customers’ delivery requirements. Drivers work 40+ hours per week, are home every night, and have weekends off. After a 60‑day initial period, medical insurance is available with Rx drug coverage and supplemental benefits after 90 days. Additional benefits include vacation time, sick pay, paid holiday time‑off, and a 401(k) plan offered the first day of employment with a company match after six months of continued employment.
Qualifications
Reliable and punctual (must be dependable)
Positive attitude and pleasant disposition
Ability to maintain a high standard of customer service
Pass DOT Physical Exam
Pass initial and random drug testing
Pass background check
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Maintain detailed and accurate records
Follow written and oral directions
Read and interpret and follow policies and procedures (Food Safety, General Safety, DOT Safety, HR)
Physical Requirements
Climb in and out of truck
Sit for periods of time while operating hand and foot controls
Lift up to 50 lbs
Push or pull loaded pallet jack and/or 2‑wheel hand‑truck
Lifting, stacking, carrying required
Work in cold temperatures
Balance on slippery walking surfaces, especially during winter conditions
Equipment
Straight trucks & tractor trailers with lift gate
Pallet jack / 2‑wheel hand‑truck
Please note this is a physically demanding job involving numerous stops, unloading, and loading and is therefore not for everyone. Both a background check and drug and alcohol pre‑employment screening are required due to the nature of our business.
Salary: $26.50 – $27.50 per hour
