Philbrook Museum of Art is seeking a reliable, safety-minded individual with a passion for creating outstanding visitor experiences to join our security team.

The Security Team provides an essential front-line service in safeguarding staff and visitors, in addition to artwork and other museum property. This position models behaviors consistent with Philbrook's continued effort to ensure the Museum is a safe, welcoming, accessible, and inclusive venue in alignment with its brand and mission.

Essential Responsibilities

Monitor multiple security systems, including: CCTV, alarms, fire detection

Receive guests and deliveries

Maintaining visitor and property logs

Patrolling buildings and grounds

Maintaining awareness of and during museum events

Reacting to incidents promptly and appropriately

Deliver excellent service, both internal and external

Maintain high standards of safety and security

Leadership

Serving as the primary Security Lead on duty, as assigned

Overseeing daily security operations

Creating daily post rotation and providing clear direction to team

Utilizing good judgement to elevate issues to supervisor or manager-on-duty

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent

Minimum of 6 months experience in a safety, security, or related field

Customer service experience preferred

First Aid and CPR certification a plus

Qualifications

A strong passion for the mission and commitment to delivering Philbrook's vision

Strong customer service skills in a public setting

Strong verbal communication skills

Ability to use good judgment

Able to handle confidential information with discretion

Organizational skills, attention to detail, and calm under pressure

Must be able to stand and walk 50% of the time

CLEET trained and certified preferred but not required

First Aid/CPR/AED training preferred but not required

Schedule Information Wednesday through Sunday, 4:00pm to 12:00am

Must be available to work evenings Wednesday through Sunday with the ability to occasionally shift to Monday & Tuesday as needed.

Note on Environment This position will require being outdoors at times, and it may be hot/cold or we may be experiencing inclement weather. Philbrook shirts are provided, but coats/cold‑weather gear are not provided.
