Transmission / Component Technician
Our Transmission / Component Technician is primarily responsible for troubleshooting, rebuilding powertrain components, transmissions, torque converters, and axles for heavy equipment applications.
Hourly Base Rate: $22.23 - $50.73 / hour
Schedule: Friday - Sunday (work 36 hours get paid for 40 / OT starts after 36 hrs worked)

Job duties
Perform all levels of repair as well as full reconditioning on component
Diagnose and troubleshoot problems, give recommendations for repairs and make all critical repairs and adjustments
Test and verify correct operation of all repairs and adjustments
Some troubleshooting on equipment may occasionally be required
Communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers on their repairs
Travel is required for training and/or to assist at other locations.
Our Ideal Candidate
Basic mechanical knowledge including mechanical, electrical and hydraulics
General knowledge of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments
Understand crane hoist and rigging equipment (preferred)
Preferred forklift experience
Must be able to read and comprehend specifications, service and parts literature, technical bulletins and other related publications
What will put you ahead
Experience working within the diesel mechanics industry (specifically with transmissions)
Stable work history
Caterpillar experience a plus
Experience with handover notes (written or verbal) to other employees
