Job Summary
Forefront Healthcare, a leading provider of culinary and support services in the continuum of care, is hiring a Full Time Cook in Brewton, AL. Compensation Hourly Wage:
$12.00 - $13.00 an hour. PTO, Vacation, Holidays, Medical & Dental Insurance, 401(k), Employee Assistance Program and more.
Essential Job Functions
Follow standardized recipes, portioning, menu extensions, and presentation standards.
Complete daily production worksheets and waste log sheets.
Sample finished meals to assure quality.
Monitor temperature of hot and cold foods to meet established goals before steam table transfer and throughout service.
Inspect food products and supplies in absence of the Director of Culinary; supervise storage of supplies and food.
Notify Director of Culinary of needed supplies or equipment and report breakdowns or unsafe conditions.
Comply with federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations and departmental sanitation procedures as evidenced through local health department and third‑party audits.
Perform other department duties assigned by the Director of Culinary.
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years cooking experience in batch cooking, family‑style restaurants, or short order.
Desired: 1 year of food service experience in a health care dietary setting.
Knowledge of quantity food preparation and portioned serving.
Ability to read, understand, and follow recipe directions, diet orders and work assignments.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including during emergencies.
Patience and tolerance toward staff, residents and families.
Education & Experience
English literacy: read, write, speak.
High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
Preferred: education in quantity cooking and therapeutic diets.

Physical Demands The Cook stands and walks intermittently throughout the day, with frequent reaching, stooping, bending, lifting, carrying, and manipulation of food products, supplies, and equipment. The Cook must be able to lift and/or carry 50 to 75 pounds and work with cleaning agents.
