Fitness Attendant – BlueStar Resort & Golf Location: Trilogy® at Lake Frederick—Shenandoah Lodge & Athletic Club, Northern Virginia’s famed & majestic Shenandoah Valley.

Employment Details

Employment Status: Part Time

Pay: $15 per hour

Benefits

Full‑time team members (30+ hrs/week) eligible for medical, dental, and life insurance (first month after 60 days). Accrue Paid Time Off (120 hrs/year) and 7 paid holidays.

Part‑time members qualify for Paid Sick Leave per state guidelines.

All eligible team members (21+) eligible for 401(k) after 30 days of service.

Position Overview The Attendant, Fitness assists fitness staff to execute courteous service to members in the fitness area. This position reports to the Wellness Director.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure the BlueStar Experience for members and guests by modeling and maintaining the standards set in the BlueStar 10 and adhering to BSRG and facility policies.

Operate as part of a team handling daily operations, including opening and closing procedures, facility inspections, stocking, and communicating maintenance needs.

Maintain and organize equipment in Fitness and Locker Room areas.

Replenish supply of clean towels in Fitness and Locker Rooms throughout the shift.

Inspect and maintain Fitness stations for neatness and cleanliness.

Demonstrate function of Fitness equipment, proper use, and techniques.

Welcome and provide check‑in for members and guests at the front desk, delivering exceptional customer service.

Provide feedback to managers on customer satisfaction and concerns to improve operations.

Develop in‑depth knowledge of all Fitness services and products; promote them enthusiastically to members and guests and support them in making choices for wellbeing.

Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

Minimum Requirements / Qualifications / Skills

High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

One to three years’ direct customer service and hospitality experience required.

One to three years of health and fitness‑related work experience preferred.

Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Knowledgeable in fitness club operations.

Skilled in attentive customer service and calmly responding to guest concerns.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, portions, and percentages.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to respond to staff, guests, and community association needs.

Demonstrate initiative—ability to think, work, and make independent decisions based on sound judgment.

Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment requiring continuous improvement.

This position requires a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends.

Valid driver’s license is required.

Work Environment This position operates indoors and routinely uses standard office equipment (computers, phones, copy and fax machines). The noise level is moderate.

Physical Demands Employee must regularly hear, see, speak clearly, understand speech of another person, sit, stand, walk (occasionally for an extended period), use hands, bend, reach, and occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
