Die Maintenance Technician General Function: Proficiently repair and prepare fine blanking dies for production.
Responsibilities
Maintain proper inventories for tooling and spare parts.
Operate and maintain tooling and die shop equipment.
Monitor dies throughout production life and collect/offer information on die design and die wear.
Maintain documentation on die maintenance repairs.
Assist maintenance department in performing machine‑specific preventive maintenance.
Perform machine‑specific cleaning procedures.
Provide recommendations for continuous improvement.

Working Conditions Works inside plant where there is a great deal of noise. The work may be dusty, dirty and greasy. Exposed to chemicals in coolants and handles sharp‑edged metal.
Physical Effort Works on a hard surface; stands, stoops, bends and lifts heavy objects (approximately 100 lbs.). May operate more than one (1) machine at a time.
Safety Equipment Wears safety shoes, glasses, gloves and ear plugs where required.
Qualification Requirements High School diploma or GED; one (1) year machine shop certificate or equivalent experience; ability to read a blueprint; basic math ability, working knowledge of metric measuring system, and experience in the use of calipers, micrometers, and dial gauges.
Additional Preferred Qualifications Some technical level courses; basic programming training. More than one (1) year of experience in machine shop and/or die making.
