Registered Sleep Technologist - Fairview Park, Dublin, GA
Med Healthcare is seeking an experienced Registered Polysomnographic Sleep Technologist (RPSGT) for the Dublin, GA area. This is a part‑time position (up to $10k/hour) for all shifts 8 pm‑6 am. Competitive hourly rates are available based on experience and patient ratio.
Position Description and Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders, including in‑center and out‑of‑center sleep testing.
Collect, analyze and integrate patient information to identify patient‑specific needs and determine testing parameters.
Explain pre‑testing and post‑testing procedures to patients.
Prepare and calibrate equipment for testing; verify patient recordings and apply electrodes/sensors according to published standards.
Perform physiologic calibrations and positive airway pressure (PAP) mask fitting.
Follow procedural protocols: Multiple Sleep Latency Test (MSLT), Maintenance of Wakefulness Test (MWT), parasomnia studies, PAP and oxygen titration.
Document observations every 20 min and score sleep/wake stages and clinical events according to center‑specific protocols.
Implement appropriate interventions (continuous or bi‑level PAP, oxygen administration, etc.).
Oversee and perform difficult and unusual procedures and therapeutic interventions.
Polysomnographic Record Scoring
Score sleep/wake stages using professionally accepted guidelines.
Score clinical events (respiratory, cardiac, limb movements, arousals) according to center protocols.
Generate accurate reports by tabulating sleep/wake and clinical event data.
Service Management and Professional Issues
Comply with safety and infection control regulations.
Maintain current CPR or BCLS certification.
Communicate effectively in written and spoken form.
Respond to study participant procedural inquiries with appropriate information.
Analyze complex situations and apply policy.
Physical Demands
Stand, walk, sit, talk and hear regularly; use hands to operate office equipment.
Regularly lift or move up to 10 lb; frequently lift or move up to 25 lb; occasionally lift or move up to 50 lb.
Continuum of Patient Care During the Shift Continuity of patient care must be provided in a coordinated manner. If one technician must pass patient care to another, the receiving technician must acknowledge acceptance and document the exchange in accordance with MedBridge Continuum of Care policy.
