Meat Department Leader – Kroger Mountain View Foods
We’re looking for a dedicated leader to plan, organize, train and direct the Meat department associates, perform production and customer service functions, and maximize store sales and profits while demonstrating Kroger’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.
Responsibilities
Develop strong customer relations through friendliness, courtesy, and adherence to company policies.
Maintain accurate temperature logs and train associates on proper record keeping.
Price and display merchandise, maintain signage, product rotation, freshness, quantity, quality and space allocation.
Provide input on department budgets, goals and results.
Train and develop Meat department employees, emphasizing customer courtesy, productivity and technical skills.
Implement company programs and policies, ensuring a workplace free of unlawful harassment or discrimination.
Make recommendations regarding hiring, firing, disciplining, demoting, transferring and evaluating all meat department associates.
Promote, communicate and implement company initiatives and process improvements to direct reports.
Manage people, organize workloads, supervise and coach direct reports, perform performance reviews and provide feedback.
Work cooperatively in a high‑paced and sometimes stressful environment.
Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational and cooperative manner.
Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
Provide support and assistance to minors, individuals with special needs and older adults.
Serve as a model employee who can perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Minimum Qualifications
Willingness to work weekends and holidays.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Ability to make intelligent decisions quickly.
Calmly handle stressful situations and make a positive impression on associates and customers.
Knowledge of production, merchandising and customer services related to preparation and sale of products.
Understanding of all key components of department operations.
Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to employment practices, safety and food handling.

Meat work experience or similar experience in food preparation.
