Ulta Beauty offers a full-service salon that includes hair, skin, brow, and makeup services. We’re seeking a passionate Stylist to engage with guests, recommend products, and deliver professional services that align with our mission and values. General Summary & Scope

The Stylist consults guests on hair care needs, recommends products and services, and supports the experience manager and assistant services manager on performance, people, and process. Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Performance

– Perform hair services including cutting, color, texture, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup applications, and ear piercing (where applicable). Performance

– Meet or exceed an average weekly sales goal of $800 and productivity goals for hair services while contributing to overall store sales, guest loyalty, and retail shrink reduce opportunities as set by Ulta Beauty. Performance

– Demonstrate business acumen by identifying opportunities for growth. Performance

– Perform product demonstrations to drive sales and enhance the guest experience. Performance

– Support in‑store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives that deliver an unrivaled guest experience. Performance

– Stay informed on new and existing industry trends, products, and services and be knowledgeable about the ingredients and benefits of these trends, products, and services. Performance

– Maintain prompt, regular attendance. People

– Develop guest relationships through consultations and appropriate retail and service recommendations. Peopleb> – Demonstrate high standards of customer service and salon image standards. People

– Serve all guests, including walk‑in guests, in a timely and efficient manner. People

– Partner with skin therapists and the retail team to provide a total‑store and well‑rounded guest experience. People

– Establish professional peer and brand partner relationships to foster a shared interest in delivering exceptional guest service. People

– Share the benefits of the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app, with guests in the salon and on the salesfloor. People

– Attend mandatory trainings and meetings to enable continuous professional development. Process

– Be knowledgeable of and ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty policies, procedures, and standards. Process

– Follow all safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures before, during, and after services; always ensure compliance with state board guidelines. Process

– Follow established service protocols to ensure a consistent and exceptional guest experience. Process

– Utilize appropriate booking and clientele systems to book guests for return services and for events. Process

– Communicate any supply needs to the EM, ensuring guest readiness at all times. Process

– Maintain outstanding store operational standards, including cleanliness of the salon, salesfloor, restrooms, backroom, break area, and any additional assigned area. Process

– Adhere to the Ulta Beauty dress code. Process

– Protect company assets by following loss prevention best practices and providing exceptional guest service. Process

– Execute other operational tasks as directed. Job Qualifications

Education

– Cosmetology license. Experience

– Previous relevant salon experience is preferred. Skills

– Proficiency with latest salon techniques for performing haircutting, haircolor, lightening, styling, texture, treatment, extensions, makeup, and ear piercing services (where applicable) and/or an aptitude to develop skills and capabilities in all service categories. Skills

– Proficiency with use of equipment and chemicals needed to perform technical work. Skills

– Proficiency to demonstrate, recommend and sell pro hair care and makeup products. Skills

– Developed communication skills. Skills

– Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Skills

– Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships, and build clientele. Special Position Requirements

Work a flexible schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Working Conditions

Frequent mobility during shift. Continuous lifting and/or moving up to 10 lbs. during shift. Frequent stooping, kneeling, bending, reaching, twisting, and crouching during shift. Ability to stand for long periods of time during shift. Continuous and/or frequent coordination and manipulation of objects during shift. Compensation

The pay range for this position is the higher of $12.50–$16.80 per hour or services pay for the working week pursuant to the Company’s Services Compensation Plan. Exact pay is based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and business and organizational needs. Eligible associates may also earn overtime pay as required by applicable law and tips paid by service guests. Full‑time positions are eligible for paid time off, health, dental, vision, life, and disability benefits; part‑time positions are eligible for dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
