Summary The Assistant Storekeeper position reports directly to the Site Manager within the Strategic Supply Management (SSM) department. The individual in this position will attend to the warehouse needs for the South East New York (SENY) region. The Assistant Storekeeper will be responsible for the warehouse assets, tagging, receiving, general housekeeping, and issuing of goods, among other tasks. The role requires close coordination with stakeholders across the region to support everyday operational needs.

Responsibilities

Loading/unloading trucks and pallets.

Inspection, comparison and documentation of incoming and outgoing material deliveries and shipments.

Performing written tagging and computer data entry of warehouse store information.

Issuing materials, stocking shelves, and replacing spare parts in designated locations.

Delivering warehouse stores as required and performing inventory functions.

Maintaining general housekeeping of the warehouse.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to pull, push, lift, and carry physical objects such as packages and equipment.

Ability to walk, stand, climb, reach, and bend for extended periods.

Recognition of parts and materials based on standard nomenclature and forklift certification/experience.

Physical condition sufficient to lift up to 50 lbs, operate forklifts, and work overtime when required.

Strong reading comprehension and verbal communication skills; general aptitude toward warehousing, SAP literacy, and successful completion of written examinations.

Valid NYS Driver License.

Education, Experience and Certifications

2 Years Warehousing Experience Required (5 Years’ Experience Preferred).

High School or Equivalent education.

Physical Requirements

Must be in good physical condition and able to lift heavy material, boxes, and equipment up to 50 lbs.

Must be able to operate forklifts (turret & 4D) and perform work overtime when necessary.
