School Bus Driver – National Express LTD
We provide safe and reliable transportation for students, ensuring they arrive on time and ready to learn. This role places a strong emphasis on child safety, punctuality, and professional conduct.
Base Pay $21.25/hr - $21.25/hr
Responsibilities
Provide safe and reliable transportation service by operating a school bus or other vehicle on a fixed or changing route.
Exhibit the highest ethical practices and personal integrity, reporting any suspicious or inappropriate behavior to a supervisor or manager.
Report to duty on time and maintain the route schedule while prioritizing safety.
Physically assist passengers during evacuation of the vehicle in case of emergency.
Immediately report any accident or incident per company policy.
Follow company policy regarding student and/or passenger management.
Inform all appropriate personnel of problems or procedural issues.
Present a neat and professional personal appearance at all times.
Complete all required paperwork (including route change sheets, time cards, vehicle repair requests) and submit it in a timely manner.
Maintain a cooperative attitude with fellow employees, supervisors, customers, and passengers while promoting company goodwill.
Safely and efficiently use vehicle equipment, including wheelchair lifts, radios, and emergency equipment.
Perform other assigned duties as needed.
Additional responsibilities may apply for Paratransit Drivers per location.
Requirements
Must be at least 21 years of age; for Tennessee School Bus Drivers, at least 25 years of age per state law.
Must possess, or be able to obtain, all valid applicable state licenses and other required certifications to operate company vehicles.
Must meet physical and medical requirements and pass substance abuse screening; as a safety‑sensitive employee, subject to random testing under company policy.
Must satisfactorily complete and pass all training requirements.
Must practice defensive driving at all times, avoiding vehicular and industrial accidents through safe driving and work habits.
Compliance with all applicable federal, state, county, district, and contract‑specific driver requirements.
