Responsibilities Forest View Hospital, located just seven miles southeast of downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan, is a private 108‑bed psychiatric facility that serves children, adolescents and adults.

We are licensed by the State of Michigan, fully accredited by The Joint Commission and bring more than 45 years of experience to the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of behavioral health problems.

As a part of our continued success and growth, we are seeking qualified applicants for a

Receptionist

who will cordially greet and receive hospital guests, ascertain their needs and appropriately direct visitors.

The

Receptionist

operates the hospital switchboard in a professional manner and correctly routes calls, performs the admission registration process and a variety of clerical duties, complies with attendance and punctuality policy, and performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Schedule Days every other weekend 7:00 am–3:00 pm

Essential Job Responsibilities

Operate the hospital switchboard and paging system functions in a professional, courteous, and effective manner, directing all incoming calls to the appropriate person.

Welcome visitors to the hospital in a warm and helpful manner, maintain visitor log, passes and adherence to established procedure.

Protect confidentiality of hospital information and hospitalized patients' information, strictly adhering to privacy and patient rights procedures.

Perform admission procedures, demonstrating comprehension of admission forms and facility to answer patient/visitor questions regarding the process.

Accurately perform clerical tasks, including entering data and managing reports.

Perform opening and closing procedures.

Comply with hospital policy regarding handling patient valuables and cash drawer.

Accept payment and give receipts for hospital cafeteria tickets.

Comply with hospital policy and departmental policies on attendance and punctuality.

Assist with COVID‑19 protocols, including screening of visitors and staff and additional cleaning requirements for the front lobby and assessment rooms.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent

Accurate typing skills and previous office experience

Effective oral and written communication skills and demonstrated interpersonal skills to interact with a diverse population

Ability to make independent, responsible decisions upholding hospital policies
