Room Attendant (Full‑Time)
Working at Hotel de la Poste in the heart of New Orleans’ vibrant French Quarter offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the rich culture and timeless charm of this iconic city. Responsibilities
Retrieve items from shelves and storerooms, set up a cleaning cart with supplies, and constantly maintain carts and storerooms in a clean and orderly fashion to enhance efficiency and ease of cleaning rooms.
Clean and wipe windows, doors, walls, closets and fixtures in rooms, public areas, and hallways, often using ladders or stools to reach hard‑to‑reach areas; wash shower walls and tubs, clean toilets and stall walls, wipe exposed pipes, and clean mirrors, sinks, and walls to maintain sanitary restrooms.
Replace towels, soaps, and all room amenities; restock literature removed by previous guests or that is soiled and torn to ensure adequate supplies for arriving guests.
Wash all hard floor areas (linoleum, tile, etc.) by hand to remove dirt and soiled areas.
Dust and polish all furniture, fixtures, and wall hangings, including using a duster to reach vents and ceiling corners to remove dust and cobwebs.
Strip beds of all linen and remake them with fresh bedspread, blankets, and bed pads; replace linens if soiled.
Lift mattresses to check for soil between mattresses and under the bed.
Check closets for cleanliness; wipe closet doors, handles, overhead shelves, and restock guest-room supplies such as hangers, extra blankets, and pillows.
Vacuum rooms, public areas, and hallways, operating vacuums up to 25 lbs and lifting/moving heavy furniture to ensure the entire area of carpet, including underneath furniture, is vacuumed.
Inspect all door and window locks to ensure they are in working order and immediately alert management to any unsecured or unsafe situation.
Inspect all room equipment (TV, lights/lamps, faucets, radios) to ensure proper working order; report any deficiencies in writing to the Executive Housekeeper for prompt repair or resolution.
Secure and maintain custody of equipment, keys, and supplies at all times to protect hotel property.
Maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times.
Perform other duties as assigned, requested, or deemed necessary by management.

Experience None required.
Knowledge / Skills
Basic knowledge of general cleaning principles, use of cleaning products, and operation of standard cleaning equipment.
Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions, and to communicate both verbally and in writing.
Physical Demands
Lift up to 50 lbs continuously throughout a shift.
Push, pull, and move levers, equipment, and furniture throughout a shift.
Work with arms raised above head throughout a shift.
Maneuver a fully loaded maid cart weighing up to 50 lbs through hallways and into/out of closets during the entire work day.
Identify minute debris and dirt in poorly lit areas, and read written instructions and computer print‑outs.
Environment
Prolonged strenuous physical activity in an indoor, climate‑controlled environment.
Excessive heat and humidity in laundry areas (approximately 95 % of shift).
