Graduate Assistant - Recreational Programming

Responsibilities
Assist the professional staff with the administration, daily operations, and development of a multi‑faceted recreation program.
Manage student personnel, including hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluation of student team members, interns, and practicum students.
Assist with payroll, budgets, financial reporting, risk management, facility maintenance, and program evaluation.
Coordinate and support departmental special events, committees, and marketing activities.
Work evening and weekend hours as required; support special trips and adventure or outdoor programs.
Collaborate with a goal‑oriented team, attend weekly meetings, and meet deadlines.
Maintain affiliation with national, regional, and state recreation associations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation, Sports Administration, Physical Education, or a related field.
Minimum 6 graduate course hours per semester.
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within the first month).
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a professional appearance.
Ability to take initiative, problem solve, and consult supervisors on complex issues.
Strong commitment to student development, customer service, and departmental mission.
