St. Matthew's Preschool is a faith-based, licensed center serving children 18 months to age 5. This position provides an immediate opening to assist the Lead Teacher in the Toddler-2's classroom. Prepare to engage and interact with children, actively participating on many levels.
Base Pay Range $14.00/hr - $14.50/hr
Summary Opening available immediately. St. Matthew's Preschool is a faith-based, licensed center serving children 18 months to age 5. This position will assist the Lead Teacher in the Toddler-2's classroom, engaging children in play-based learning centers, maintaining hygiene and classroom materials, and ensuring smooth daily transitions.
Duties
Assist in the implementation of curricula activities and encourage participation by children in play-based learning centers.
Actively engage in activities; manage cleanliness, maintenance, and availability of classroom materials.
Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling.
Help ensure smooth, daily transition from home to child care center.
Follow all center policies and state regulations.
Requirements
Minimum of 6 months of experience working in a licensed child care center.
High school diploma or greater.
Willingness to learn and use high-quality standards produced by Spartanburg Quality Counts.
High energy.
Ability to work well with others.
Understanding of child development.
Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
Must be able and willing to take frequent walks, engage in outdoor activity, use hands, fingers and handle objects, talk clearly and hear voices at different levels.
Must be able to kneel, bend, squat in the classroom and playground environment.
Vision ability includes seeing up close and distances, peripheral vision and depth perception.
Nice to Haves
Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
1 year or more of experience working in a licensed child care center.
ECD 101 and additional Early Care and Education coursework.
Associate degree or higher in Early Care and Education or a related field.
