Job Overview
AMPI owns seven Midwest-based manufacturing plants where 10 percent of the nation's American-type cheese, processed cheese and butter is produced. The cooperative’s award-winning cheese, butter and powdered dairy products are marketed to foodservice, retail and food ingredient customers. In 2019, the co‑op launched its Dinner Bell Creamery brand and accompanying Co‑op Crafted promise, highlighting more than 50 years of dairy farm families.
Responsibilities
All AMPI employees have an obligation to report employee safety, food safety and food quality issues to personnel of authority.
This position has a heightened food safety and food quality responsibility.
Assemble carts and place cheesecloth and liners into boxes.
Thoroughly rinse carts and pans in order to remove any soil/debris prior to placing in the bottom washer.
Clean and sanitize all carts and pans.
Inspect and re‑clean and sanitize if any soil or debris is located.
Load and unload carts into a vacuum chamber and monitor the chamber to ensure proper vacuum pressure and time is met according to the specification.
Seal the blocks.
Inspect, weigh and tag carts.
Maintain good housekeeping and cleanup of equipment, keeping work areas organized.
Maintain proper documentation in all formats of record‑keeping.
Adhere to all aspects of company and customer safety, sanitation and site policies.
Assist with training new employees once experience is gained.
Assist the maintenance personnel, when needed, for machine repairs or troubleshooting.
Adhere to all Quality and Food Safety policies and procedures, reporting any non‑conformity.
Other duties as assigned.
Education / Experience
High School Diploma Or General Education Degree (GED) is preferred.
