The Stylist engages guests, consults on hair care needs, recommends products and services, and supports the Experience Manager and Assistant Services Manager through performance, people, and process focus. PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform hair services including design, cuts, color, texture, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup applications, and ear piercing (where applicable). Meet or exceed a sales goal of $800 average weekly sales and meet productivity goals for hair services through exceptional guest service. Demonstrate business acumen and identify growth opportunities. Perform product demonstrations to drive sales and enhance the guest experience. Support in‑store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives that deliver an unrivaled guest experience. Stay informed about industry trends, products, and services and apply knowledge to better serve guests. Maintain prompt, regular attendance. EMPLOYEE PEOPLE & PROCESS
Develop guest relationships through consultations and appropriate retail and service recommendations. Deliver high standards of customer service and salon image. Serve walk‑in guests promptly and efficiently. Partner with skin therapists and retail team to provide a total‑store and well‑rounded guest experience. Foster professional relationships that support exceptional guest service. Share benefits of the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app. Attend mandatory trainings and meetings for continuous professional development. Ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty policies, procedures, and standards. Follow all safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures before, during, and after services. Follow established service protocols for a consistent guest experience. Utilize booking and clientele systems to schedule return services and events. Communicate supply needs to the Experience Manager to ensure guest readiness. Maintain excellent store operational standards, including salon, salesfloor, restrooms, backroom, break area, and any assigned area. Adhere to the Ulta Beauty dress code. Protect company assets by following loss prevention best practices. Execute other operational tasks as directed. JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Cosmetology license. Previous relevant salon experience preferred. Proficiency with latest salon techniques for haircutting, haircolor, lightening, styling, texture, treatment, extensions, makeup, and ear piercing services. Proficiency with use of equipment and chemicals needed for technical work. Proficiency to recommend and sell pro hair care and makeup products. Developed communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships and client base. SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Work a flexible schedule that includes days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. WORKING CONDITIONS
Frequent mobility during shift. Continuous lifting and/or moving up to 10 lbs during shift. Frequent stooping, kneeling, bending, reaching, twisting, and crouching during shift. Ability to stand for long periods of time during shift. Continuous and/or frequent coordination and manipulation of objects during shift. PAY & BENEFITS
Pay range: $17.00 per hour. Eligible associates may earn services pay pursuant to Ulta Beauty’s Services Compensation Plan.
