Responsibilities
Welcome cruise ship passengers as they arrive at the Seward cruise ship terminal.
Provide friendly, accurate information about Kenai Fjords Tours excursions and logistics.
Direct guests to buses, tours, or holding areas as appropriate.
Assist with wayfinding and general port information.
Verify guest bookings and manage real‑time tour inventory for cruise passengers.
Hold and allocate inventory for groups arriving from cruise ships.
Coordinate with sales and reservations teams to ensure accurate availability.
Assist with group check‑ins and distribution of tickets/materials.
Provide support for group tour movements, including ensuring groups are gathered and prepared for departure.
Liaise with drivers, tour guides, and operations staff to ensure smooth transitions.
Assist with communication between the terminal and on‑site operations teams.
Work closely with reservations, port operations, and guest services to ensure seamless guest flow.
Communicate clearly and promptly regarding inventory levels, guest counts, and any operational issues.
Support other port and guest service functions as needed during peak operations.
Qualifications
Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment with large guest volumes.
Comfort with basic technology (tablets, handheld devices, booking systems).
Flexibility to work varied schedules, including mornings, weekends, and holidays.
Previous guest service, hospitality, or tourism experience preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time in an outdoor port environment.
Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs. occasionally (luggage, materials, equipment).
Comfortable working in varying weather conditions (rain, cold, heat, wind).
Ability to move quickly and assist with guest flow during peak disembarkation times.
Ability to communicate clearly in a loud, crowded environment.
