Group Fitness Instructor
– YMCA of the USA
Overview The Alfond Youth & Community Center (AYCC) is seeking enthusiastic and knowledgeable Group Fitness Instructors to lead safe, engaging, and effective fitness classes for participants of all ages and fitness levels. Instructors will provide high‑quality instruction in formats such as cycling, HIIT, yoga, Pilates, Functional Fitness/TRX, and more, while fostering a supportive and motivating environment.

Work Schedule 5:00 am–6:30 am Wednesday and Thursday OR Thursday and Friday (Less than 5 hours per week)
Qualifications
Professional image
Current CPR/AED certification
Certified as a Group Fitness Instructor or ability to become certified; Y Certified; Group Fitness Professional – Associate’s degree or 200+ hour certification
Prior instructional experience helpful
Essential Functions
Safely lead energizing, fun, and educational group classes as directed by the supervisor.
Design and ensure delivery of programs and activities appropriate to the target population, including youth, senior, teen, general, and sport performance training.
Answer members’ questions to support their health goals; stay current on wellness trends.
Keep accurate class attendance records and track monthly participation.
Assist with storing, maintaining, and cleaning equipment.
Provide coverage for the Wellness Center desk.
Build effective, authentic relationships with members and help them connect with each other and the AYCC.
