Key Responsibilities
Maintain timely meal service and ensure smooth kitchen operations
Review daily menus and event calendars to confirm necessary ingredients and supplies
Prepare meals that are nutritious, visually appealing, and consistent with residents' dietary needs
Follow standardized recipes and make substitutions only when authorized
Serve food using proper portion control methods
Assist with preparing special meals for events and celebrations
Accurately estimate portions and manage leftovers to minimize waste and control food costs
Adhere to state and county regulations regarding sanitation, food safety, storage, recordkeeping, and chemical handling
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently (e.g., steamer, oven, grill, meat slicer, mixer, grinder, dishwasher)
Maintain organized, clean, and compliant cooler and freezer spaces
Complete daily cleaning assignments to uphold sanitation standards
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required.
One year of experience as a Cook preferred.
Healthcare/skilled nursing home experience preferred.
ServSafe certified preferred
