Role Description Arcadis is seeking an experienced Environmental Technician to work in Connecticut, serviced by our Middletown, CT and Sandy Hook, CT offices. The role also supports work in surrounding states and offers opportunities for short‑term travel if desired. The Environmental Technician assists in environmental field services for several clients, performing surface and groundwater monitoring and sampling, soil sampling, soil remediation oversight, operation and maintenance of remedial systems, and subcontractor oversight. The ideal candidate has environmental site investigation and monitoring experience and strong ability to communicate effectively with project teams verbally and in written field documentation. Candidates local to Connecticut are required as the position requires field work and occasional reporting to field offices for meetings and picking up equipment and materials. Relocation support may be considered.
Role Accountabilities
Groundwater, soil, and vapor sampling
Implementation of various field activities including permit compliance sampling, monitoring well development and repair, waste management, etc.
Remediation system operation, maintenance and monitoring
Site inspections
Oversight of subcontractors to perform selected operations
Remedial action field support such as in‑situ injection and source removal activities
Qualifications & Experience Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
1+ year environmental field experience
OSHA HAZWOPER 40‑hour training
Preferred Qualifications
Associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree, or trade school certificate/diploma
TWIC Card, DOT HazMat shipping training
10‑hour OSHA construction safety training
Additional Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Valid driver’s license
Ability to work independently or lead small teams
Salary $41,222 – $66,147 annually, depending on experience, education, budget, and location.
