Emergency Veterinarian – Ethos ER Immerse Mentorship Program
Location: Winchester, VA (off‑site training at Bowie, MD). 6‑month training program (June 2026 start date) with a 1‑year commitment as an ER clinician at VVERC thereafter.
About Valley Veterinary Emergency & Referral Center (VVERC) VVERC has been a trusted name in emergency care for over 25 years. The hospital began in 1998 with 19 local veterinarians and became part of Ethos Veterinary Health in 2018. It offers a modern facility with a full surgical suite, advanced monitoring, diagnostic ultrasound, endoscopy, therapeutic laser, Heska cytology, and ezyVet software. Program Overview
6‑month hybrid training program (simulation‑based didactics plus live patient experience)
Competency‑based curriculum with asynchronous learning on Vetbloom and weekly live virtual didactic rounds
Full surgical suite, advanced monitoring, diagnostic ultrasound, endoscopy, therapeutic laser, Heska cytology, ezyVet software
Dedicated mentor on shifts; no on‑call duties
Surgical training required
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive emergency veterinary care for dogs and cats under supervision.
Participate in surgical procedures and diagnostic evaluations.
Document patient care accurately and engage in team reflections and daily check‑ins.
Collaborate with team members to uphold a respectful, fun, and safe work environment.
Qualifications
Active U.S. veterinary license.
Team oriented, driven, reflective, and reliable.
Strong passion for emergency medicine.
Commitment to completing the 6‑month program and the 1‑year ER clinician role thereafter.
