Fire Sprinkler Service Apprentice
Fast‑paced, demanding role for a fire sprinkler service apprentice life safety technician to perform inspection, testing, service and repairs of fire sprinkler systems and related components. Confirm compliance with standards, codes, manufacturer requirements, federal, state and local ordinances, customer requirements and company expectations.

What You Will Be Doing
Perform inspection and testing of all types of fire sprinkler systems at the required frequencies in accordance with NFPA 25 requirements.
Troubleshoot and perform service and repair of fire sprinkler systems such as fire pumps and related components.
Record and document all inspections, repairs, discrepancies, and recommendations electronically or manually.
Maintain a positive relationship with the customer and forward information to appropriate personnel for follow‑up, quotes, questions, or concerns.
Maintain vehicle in clean and orderly fashion, stocked with parts, equipment, and supplies necessary for the job.
Maintain equipment and tools necessary for safe job performance.
Evaluate customer site for additional equipment and services that customer may require.
Work in compliance with the company’s safety program.
Perform on‑site and/or off‑site (phone) emergency troubleshooting of sprinkler systems.
Test backflow prevention devices as required by NFPA 25 and state/local codes.
Complete additional certifications as necessary for jurisdiction.
Discuss deficiencies with customer, explaining problem and resolution.
Be prepared to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays when required. Discuss scheduling with manager.
Be comfortable working at heights, ladders, lifts, confined spaces.
Qualifications
Basic understanding of fire sprinkler or plumbing systems is useful for this entry‑level role.
Ability to calculate basic math (fractions, decimals, percentages).
Proficiency with basic computer functions, operating systems and software (Windows, Word, Apple iOS, Android, Outlook) and ability to learn industry‑specific devices and software.
Valid U.S. driver’s license.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements Overtime may be required; hours vary by location. Conditions may include hot or cold temperatures, dust. Travel overnight may be required. Must lift up to 50 lbs occasionally. Frequent lifting of toolboxes, equipment, parts, cabling, wiring. Ladder climbing, wall checking, pulling wire, walking, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, raising hands overhead. Driving required.
Mandatory use of PPE per safety standards.
