Cook (Part Time)
Chartwells School Dining Services K12 is hiring a part‑time COOK to prepare high‑quality, nutritious meals for students in Monroe Township School.
Job Summary Prepares food in accordance with state and corporate standards. Ensures quality food service at all times.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare high‑quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions.
Serve meals or prepare for delivery using correct portioning and presentation.
Use established ticket collection procedures during service.
Clean kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high cleanliness standards.
Store or discard excess food in accordance with safe food‑handling procedures.
Keep refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat, ensuring food and supply items are stored per standards.
Operate and maintain kitchen equipment as instructed.
Assist in production planning, record keeping, and reporting as required.
Assist in ordering and receiving all food and supplies as required.
Report needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to the supervisor immediately.
Attend in‑service and safety meetings.
Maintain good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators, and managers.
Perform job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Ensure proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of serving temperatures; follow HACCP standards.
Qualifications
Five years of prior food service experience preferred.
ServSafe certification preferred.
Willing to train.
Ability to work Monday through Friday, variable hours.
Compensation Fixed Pay Rate: $16.60 per hour.
