Anticipated Opening – Part-Time TESOL Teacher
LEARN, in southeastern Connecticut’s Regional Educational Service Center, invites candidates to apply for an anticipated part‑time TESOL Teacher opening.

General Scope of Responsibility The TESOL Teacher is responsible for educating students and supporting teaching and instruction through coaching, professional development, and reporting.
Relationship Within the Organization The TESOL Teacher reports to the principal(s) and the Director of the Program.
Specific Responsibilities
Teach ELL students through planning and individualizing instruction to meet student needs.
Design and implement ELL curriculum.
Articulate and monitor the delivery of the TESOL program within each grade.
Collect and provide data regarding student achievement and inform students of the basis of assessment.
Partner with teachers/instructors to support effective instruction for English Language Learners.
Provide staff coaching and in‑service programs related to multilingual learners.
Communicate with parents and the greater community about learner needs and successes.
Assist in the completion of state‑mandated documentation.
Meet professional responsibilities listed in the Connecticut Teacher Competencies.
Promote self‑awareness, self‑respect, appropriate behavior and responsibility.
Maintain professional attitude in working with others.
Effectively manage student behavior.
Participate in and contribute to school programs, projects and professional activities.
Follow guidelines with regard to record‑keeping, documentation, and reporting.
Model appropriate social skills and behavior.
Foster self‑worth and independence in students.
Assign duties and monitor teacher assistants and other persons assigned to the classroom.
Support program and agency goals.
Perform other duties associated with the position as directed by administration.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in related field required.
CT Certification 111‑Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) PK‑12 required.
