What You'll Do

Patient ambassador for the hospital, interacting with patients while cleaning, using appropriate chemicals to clean and/or sanitize the areas assigned, following infection control procedures, and utilizing the duty list checklist.

Additionally, if qualified, floor care/maintenance is performed, including burnishing, top scrub & recoat, strip and applying new finish, and bonneting.

Additionally, if applicable, responsible for maintaining linen levels and ensuring that positive interactions occur between linen supply and the areas that are receiving linen.

Demonstrates knowledge of department policies and procedures.

Clean assigned area per the 10 Step Cleaning method and any other specific requirements per the assigned duties/duty list checklist.

Uses appropriate chemicals, techniques, and infection control procedures while cleaning.

Follow assigned duties for the day listed on the duty list/daily check list.

Incorporates scripting/GREAT into daily tasks.

Follows all EPIC policies and procedures per Department standards.

Reports any maintenance or repairs needed immediately to management or identifies on daily checklist.

Performs related services such as changing curtains, stocking supplies; maintains equipment, tools, and storage areas in clean, orderly and good operating condition.

Manage inventory levels in each department:

Exchange cart

On AM carts, ensure that the par levels are correct on the cart and take them to their destination.

Count all linen on the carts and bring them back up to the par level before delivering them (usually done the day before so they are ready for am run).

Floor carts/closets:

Load inventory on carts to be distributed to the units.

Count all linen on unit carts and replace items to correct PAR levels.

Restocking PM.

May round units with IPad or other recording device to see what unit linens are needed to meet their PAR level.

Fill inventory cart of these linen items. (Some units are only delivered to in AM)

May record final data utilizing the assigned IPad or by other method as requested by department leadership.

Restocks and delivers clean linen to other parts of the hospital such as the clinic and outsourced couriers.

Unloads delivery of clean linen onto shelves in clean linen room and matches count of items received to items sent on invoice.

Maintain the orderliness and cleanliness of the inventory room at all times (dust, wet mopping the floors, taking out garbage, etc.).

Problems – contact Direct Supervisor (or acting Supervisor) for any concerns that arise while providing services on units.

Present yourself professionally and effectively with people within the hospital, nurses, nurse managers, clinicians, Central Supply, Materials Manager and the Environmental Service Department, etc.

Other duties as assigned.

Pay Range USD $16.65/Hr. – USD $24.97/Hr.
