Position: MRO Crib Attendant – McCalla, AL (Gestamp)
MRO Crib Attendant; must be flexible, self‑starting team player. This individual, as part of the MRO Team, will ensure that all daily duties assigned are completed to schedule as directed by the MRO/Purchasing team. During non‑active times, they will assist and complete daily tasks and expectations as directed by their manager and this Job Description.
Job Summary As a core member of the MRO Team, the Crib Attendant will manage material flow within the MRO crib area, maintain inventory accuracy, support procurement and expediting activities, and ensure compliance with Gestamp policies and safety standards. The role requires strong organizational skills, proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Office, and forklift operation, and a commitment to teamwork, customer service, and continuous improvement.
Duties and Responsibilities
Adhere to all Gestamp Employee Policies, including attendance, punctuality, and conduct.
Clock in and out at start and end of shift; record any leave from facility property.
Follow scheduled breaks and lunch times; wear approved uniforms and attire.
Prepare and supply material to support MRO within the crib area.
Manage and lead item adds, material changes, and obsoleting processes; take photos, attach to SAP, and assign/unassign bin locations.
Examine contents, compare with records (manifests, invoices, orders) to verify shipment accuracy, and correspond with buyer/vendors to resolve issues.
Receive and process all shipments and goods for McCalla Plant I & II into Gestamp systems.
Prepare goods for storage and maintain accurate inventory counts using appropriate SAP transactions.
Perform all aspects of reservations (running reports, issuing).
Work with MRO Crib Buyer and purchasing team on proper procurement and expediting products.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and SAP; willing to learn additional programs.
Track and dispose of material with expired shelf life and non‑moving material physically and in SAP.
Perform daily cycle counting and reconcile discrepancies.
Perform root cause analysis of inventory inaccuracies and follow standard practices for resolution.
Provide training to personnel as specified in the departmental training matrix.
Facilitate the repair process of capital assets needing repair.
Run weekly reports for stock‑out material in the MRO Crib and follow up on delinquent items.
Attend the internal customer at the MRO window, issuing materials as needed using SAP.
Perform daily 5S organization and cleaning duties.
Operate a forklift to move and organize inventory; must be Gestamp certified.
Work any shift and overtime as required, including weekends and short notice.
Act as a team player, contributing to a positive and productive environment within the department.
Perform special projects and maintain job flexibility by supporting materials and other production/non‑production related areas, stock audits, and system accuracy.
Exhibit excellent customer service skills when serving internal customers politely and expediently.
Clean up after oneself when generating trash during daily tasks.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma/GED and 5 years manufacturing experience in material handling and/or warehousing.
Prior forklift/material handling experience and Gestamp certified forklift operator.
Experience using SAP for goods receiving and inventory management strongly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and SAP.
Strong knowledge of supply chain management and material flow.
Strong PC knowledge and ability to operate computer terminals and barcode scanning devices efficiently.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong math and reading skills.
Ability to handle the physical demands of shipping and receiving operations.
Excellent safety, attendance, and performance record.
Strong work ethic with a drive for excellence.

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
