Visual Arts Teacher
for the

Responsibilities
Teach several visual art courses for middle/upper school students.
Design and implement art curriculum that encourages artistic risk taking and personal expression.
Collaborate with colleagues to align visual arts content with broader curricular goals across disciplines.
Create lessons that build an excitement for art.
Use a variety of different materials and art styles to diversify student experiences in art making.
Evaluate each student’s progress in their knowledge and skills.
Communicate with parents to discuss the individual student’s progress.
Develop and enrich professional skills and knowledge by attending seminars, conferences, and professional development sessions.
Serve as an advisor for a group of students, offering support, mentorship, and guidance to help them thrive academically and personally.
Participate in extracurricular responsibilities, including assisting with sports teams or monitoring student clubs and events.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts, Education, or related required. Master’s degree in visual arts or related field preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of K-12 teaching experience preferred.
Passion for visual art, art history, and the fine arts.
Knowledge of varied teaching strategies to differentiate learning.
Eager to work collaboratively with other teachers.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
U.S. Work Authorization required.
Additional Desired Qualities
Willingness to work with middle and high school students.
Desire to be involved in school-wide initiatives and extracurricular activities.
Potential Benefits Compensation and benefit packages are competitive but will differ by school and will typically depend on geographic location, your experience, and your level of degree.
