is looking for a CDL A driver with roll‑off experience.
About VLS VLS Waste Services provides customized waste processing solutions for hazardous and non‑hazardous industrial and commercial waste, including landfill diversion, solidification of liquid waste, recycling, wastewater treatment, and waste sequestration. Job Summary As a CDL Class A Driver you will haul hazardous and non‑hazardous waste, support operations during high demand times, and operate a variety of equipment. You will maintain equipment appearance, ensure compliance, and create a positive client experience.
Responsibilities
Loading, unloading, and safely transporting hazardous and non‑hazardous materials and operating all fleet and facility equipment. Types of equipment include vac tankers, roll‑off equipment, walking floor trailers, and dump trailers.
Safe and responsible operation of assigned equipment while maintaining appearance of company equipment to meet company standards.
Interfacing and creating a Wow! Experience for our clients at the point of delivery.
Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
Reporting vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage before and after pickups.
Efficiently able to operate a manual transmission (no automatic restriction).
Willingness to do overnight runs.
Ability to make minor repairs is a plus (light bulbs, fuses, minor air leaks).
Ability to identify and report equipment malfunction or damage.
Requirements
CDL Driver must have a good driving history and pass a background check.
Valid Class A CDL with HazMat & Tanker Endorsements.
Must be willing to obtain a TWIC Card.
CDL Driver must pass DOT drug screen, physical, and road test.
Must be 21 years of age or older.
Experience operating a Roll‑off truck.
Driving experience and tanker experience preferred.
Hazwoper certification preferred.
Physical Demands
The employee must lift up to 50 pounds.
Be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
This position will require wearing personal protective equipment.
Ability to do repetitive motion (lifting, pulling, and loading hoses/pumping totes and drums).
