Part Time Meat Clerk at Harris Teeter
This is a part time position. Responsible for processing, packaging, and stocking meat products according to Meat Standards, cleaning work areas, providing customer service, unloading stock, and reloading salvage. Perform duties of seafood clerk when assigned.
Base Pay Range $13.85/hr - $13.85/hr
Compensation Harris Teeter reasonably expects to pay between $13.85/hour and $20.10/hour for this role as a newly hired associate. Pay may depend on previous experience and skill sets of the applicant.
Responsibilities
Process, package, and stock meat products in accordance with Meat Standards.
Clean work areas and maintain sanitary conditions.
Provide excellent customer service during unloading, reloading, and general customer interactions.
Reload salvage and perform any assigned seafood clerk duties as required.
Qualifications
Personal Skills: Exceptional interpersonal skills, willingness to complete required training, and ability to work with the team to increase customer satisfaction and sales.
Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills: Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English; write simple correspondence in English; present information effectively to customers, vendors, and associates who only speak English.
Mathematical Skills: Add and subtract two‑digit numbers and perform operations using units of American money and weight measurement.
Reasoning Ability: Apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions; deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates, Licences, Registrations: Complete company training including new hire orientation, food sanitation, customer service, safety, food safety, and product knowledge.
Physical Demands Regularly stand, walk, handle items, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear, taste or smell. Occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds with reaches from 6–72 inches. Frequently lift and move up to 100 pounds with reaches from 6–72 inches. Requires close vision, color and depth perception.
Work Environment Cool environment (34–36 °F) with wet or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. Occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and extreme cold. Noise level moderate to loud. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
