Entry Level Engineering Opportunity! We are seeking an Entry Level Engineer to join our client in Houston. Under the supervision of a technical lead, you will support various activities related to the design and construction of electrical overhead and underground distribution systems. These systems operate from 4kV through 138kV and are primarily associated with programmatic work such as overloaded transformers, inspection, and maintenance. You will ensure compliance with safety requirements and design quality expectations.
Responsibilities
Develop design and construction work packages for electrical distribution systems.
Ensure compliance with safety requirements and design expectations.
Travel to sites for inspections and perform engineering design work.
Perform engineering calculations, including structural analysis and voltage drop calculations.
Develop permitting documents for different Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs).
Provide engineering support during construction and conduct post-construction reviews.
Conduct root cause analysis of outages and apply engineering principles for mitigation.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering.
0‑1 years of prior relevant experience.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, distribution design, power distribution, engineering, GIS, and utility design is preferred.
Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX.
Pay and Benefits Pay range: $29.00 - $30.00/hr.
