STS Aviation Services is hiring experienced
AOG Structures Technicians
to support rapid-response aircraft maintenance operations based in Melbourne, Florida. This role is built for seasoned professionals who thrive in high‑pressure environments and are ready to respond to aircraft‑on‑ground situations anywhere, at any time.
Position Summary The AOG Structures Technician performs advanced structural repairs, modifications, and troubleshooting on transport‑category aircraft in both field and remote environments. Candidates must meet FAA Part 65 requirements and be prepared for immediate deployment in support of critical aircraft recovery efforts.
Employees who do not hold an FAA certificate or do not meet FAR 65 requirements must comply with the STS Aviation Services U.S. Language Requirements Policy.
Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
Valid Driver’s License
Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License
Minimum of 10 years of heavy aircraft structures repair experience on Boeing and Airbus aircraft
Prior AOG field service experience required
United States citizenship with a valid passport
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to pass an elevated, hands‑on proficiency test
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and parts fabrication drawings
Ability to read and apply Structural Repair Manuals and Aircraft Maintenance Manuals
Willingness and ability to travel on short notice, within four hours of call‑out
Willingness to work any shift, including nights, weekends, and extended hours
Ability to work in remote and challenging environments
Strong knowledge of damage classification, allowable limits, repair layout, and execution
Ability to inspect, overhaul, repair, modify, and troubleshoot airframe parts, systems, and components
Ability to perform work within estimated timeframes while meeting FAA and customer quality standards
Effective communication skills to assist Aircraft Engineers in developing repair solutions and modifications
Ability to fabricate parts and assemblies
Ability to safely operate ground support equipment when qualified
Nature of Work
Must be available to work all shifts based on operational demand
Must be capable of performing physically strenuous labor in field environments
Desired Characteristics
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to complete assignments accurately with little or no rework
Ability to interface effectively with management, engineering teams, and fellow technicians
