Job Overview The Chemical Blender is responsible for safely and accurately mixing chemical products in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), OSHA safety regulations, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). This role supports production efficiency, product quality, and workplace safety while maintaining accurate documentation and compliance with regulatory and internal requirements.
Safety & Regulatory Compliance
Comply with all OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and site‑specific safety procedures.
Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling, pouring, or mixing chemical components.
Identify, report, and assist in correcting unsafe conditions, spills, or equipment hazards to the Supervisor or Shift Lead.
Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard‑free work area in accordance with 5S and GMP standards.
Monitor water levels and promptly clean spills to prevent slip, trip, and fall hazards.
Handle and store chemicals in compliance with Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and chemical hygiene requirements.
Production & Mixing Operations
Accurately follow all SOPs, batch formulas, and approved mixing sequences.
Prepare chemical batches according to specifications and production schedules.
Complete all required batch records, mix logs, and production documentation in real time and in accordance with GMP documentation standards.
Visually verify product characteristics, including viscosity and consistency, and take appropriate action if results fall outside specifications.
Monitor raw material and supply levels and notify supervision when reorder points are reached.
Ensure proper labeling, storage, and segregation of raw materials and finished products.
Equipment Operation & Maintenance
Safely operate and monitor mixing equipment, including mix tanks, agitators, pumps, and reverse osmosis (RO) systems.
Perform routine inspections of equipment during operation and report malfunctions, defects, or abnormalities immediately.
Maintain appropriate salt levels in the RO system brine tank and communicate replenishment needs to supervision.
Support preventive maintenance efforts by identifying potential equipment issues before failure occurs.
Quality & GMP Compliance
Perform in‑process quality checks in accordance with SOPs and GMP requirements.
Ensure all documentation is accurate, legible, and completed in compliance with GMP record‑keeping standards.
Demonstrate sound judgment and problem‑solving skills when managing multiple batches and coordinating transfers to holding tanks.
Support audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives as required.
Production Support
Ensure packing personnel are supplied with necessary materials, including boxes and partitions.
Assist stacking operations when needed and when production schedule allows.
Perform additional duties or special projects as assigned by the Supervisor or Management.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Skills
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Basic math and counting skills; must successfully pass required reading and math assessments.
Ability to read, understand, and follow written SOPs, safety instructions, and batch documentation.
Experience
Prior experience in chemical manufacturing, blending, or industrial production preferred but not required.
Familiarity with OSHA safety practices, GMP environments, or regulated manufacturing settings is a plus.
