PATIENT DINING ASSOCIATE / DIETARY AIDE (PART TIME)

at Ballad Health Franklin Woods Community Hospital (300 Med Tech Park, Johnson City, Tennessee 37604). Schedule: Part‑time, days 3:30‑8:30 pm; rotating weekends & holidays. Minimum qualifications: prior food‑service experience preferred. Pay: $15.25 per hour.
Job Summary Patient Dining Associates assist patients with menu selections, assemble, deliver, and pick up meal trays, ensuring timely and accurate service while maintaining patient safety and satisfaction. They work as part of the caregiving team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Help patients understand menu selections and work with nursing staff to ensure orders meet nutritional requirements.
Determine menu alternatives for patients with allergies, sensitivities, cultural, ethnic, and religious preferences.
Manage tray tickets, assemble meals accurately and timely, retrieve trays from patient rooms as scheduled.
Comply with federal, state, and JCAHO regulations; adhere to HIPAA policies.
Follow HACCP guidelines when handling food, cleaning work stations, and breaking down patient tray lines.
Follow infection control policies and procedures.
Assist dietitians with patients on liquid diets or specific calorie counts.
Communicate problems or concerns with patients to appropriate personnel promptly.
Complete all required reports per Morrison Healthcare policies.
Maintain compliance with health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Ability to read, write, and interpret documents in English.
Basic computer and math skills.
Must occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds and maneuver food‑delivery carts.
