***This is a part-time M-F position, working 2 PM to 6 PM at the Harold B Dawson Middle School (address is 2708 W Rohmann Ave, West Peoria, IL

61604). This position will average 25 hours per week, and the pay is $20.60/hr.***The Youth Services Coach will support Goodwill’s youth programming, working with ages 10–24 to develop skills in conflict resolution, self-regulation, coping strategies, and de-escalation. This role involves providing one-on-one and small group support to youth, helping them navigate daily stressors and challenges in a safe, non-violent way.As part of this role, the Youth Services Coach will have the opportunity to contribute to program development and design, educate families and community members on trauma and youth mental health, and collaborate with other Goodwill programs to provide a holistic, wrap-around approach. The role requires autonomous decision-making and ethical judgment while ensuring program fidelity and participant safety.**Example Duties and Activities*** Work directly with youth in Revive and Teen REACH programs to build trust and teach social-emotional skills, conflict resolution, and coping strategies.* Manage a small caseload of youth requiring additional one-on-one support to succeed in group settings.* Respond calmly and effectively to youth experiencing crises, employing trauma-informed practices rather than restraint or seclusion.* Collaborate with families, schools, and community partners to advocate and promote trauma-informed care and service linkages for youth and reinforce behavioral supports across environments.Create and maintain behavior support plans, monitor progress, and adjust interventions as needed.* Collect, track, and report program data to comply with program requirements and support continuous improvement.* Organize and facilitate group or individual coaching on topics such as better understanding their mental wellbeing, identifying and improving their coping skills in dealing with trauma, and incorporating principles from Goodwill’s holistic Mission Coach approach.* Serve as the primary point of contact for youth, families, volunteers, and external partners.* Represent Goodwill in the community, engaging in outreach, networking, and resource development to expand program impact.* Participate in ongoing professional development, training on trauma-informed practices, youth mental health, and other relevant topics.

Maintain a positive, professional demeanor and ensure equitable, culturally competent interactions with all participants.* Perform other duties as assigned to support program success and participant well-being.****Required Competencies***** **Degree and Credential Requirements-** NONE! We believe in continuous learning and professional development.* **Communication Skills**- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills; ability to deliver guidance, feedback, and program information effectively.* **Industry Experience-** Experience supporting youth in social-emotional development, de-escalation, and trauma-informed practices.* **Client Engagement**- Ability to build trusting relationships with youth, families, and community partners; employ a strengths-based, client-centered approach.* **Autonomy-** Works independently, makes sound decisions in the best interest of youth, and demonstrates accountability.* **Technical Skills-** Proficiency in Microsoft Office or G Suite; experience with database systems preferred.* **Critical Thinking** - Uses both rationale and reasoning to examine data, processes, and strategies in identifying trends and inconsistencies to create alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.* **Building Collaborative Relationships** - Develops, maintains, and strengthens partnerships at all levels with others inside or outside the organization who can provide information, assistance, and support.

Is able to receive as well as provide feedback to improve performance or processes.* **Ethical -** Adheres to procedures and protocol, including maintaining confidentiality in passwords, logging on and off procedures, and adherence to Goodwill’s values.* **Technical Knowledge** - Has solid knowledge of G Suite, MS Office, databases, and the internet.****Preferred Competencies***** ****Information Monitoring** -** Collects and reviews information to manage or improve processes and/or activities.****Other Requirements***** Ability to occasionally work a flexible schedule beyond normal business hours.* Is willing to travel to participants’ homes, workplaces, community centers, and other venues at times that are convenient to individuals being served.* **Background Screening** - All candidates must pass a pre-employment background check.
