What you will do The Welder III reports to the ATSM Production Supervisor. With extensive fixturing, assembles and fabricates component parts for code tanks and final assemblies. Welds non-code assemblies by hand with multiple hand weld processes or semi‑automatic machine welding. The company reserves the right to rotate employees to other departments or work assignments within the organization as needed based upon skill set, production needs, etc.
How you will do it From prints, sets up and welds material to be fabricated and assembled onto component parts with non‑pressure welds. Also, welds finals on non‑code tanks using jigs, fixtures, or by hand. Uses an oxygen acetylene torch and/or track burner, and/or plasma arc. After passing ASME weld test, performs basic code operations such as tabbing, spud welding, etc. Visually inspects welds to assure that code and quality control standards are met. Removes weld splatter from all welds. Notifies Maintenance personnel if welding machine malfunctions. Must know color code of material used. Must complete proper paperwork, as required. Supporting the training and development of peers within the organization. Performs housekeeping and other related duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications Must be 18 years of age and have a HS Diploma or equivalent. Welding experience or demonstrated welding course work at an accredited trade school is required. Must demonstrate ability to pass a “6G” welding test. Experience with print reading and working with small hand tools, grinders, etc. is required. Most work is performed while bending and in uncomfortable positions. Requires handling light to heavy weight materials. Special note: Normal Training Time – Three (3) Months.

Report all accidents and injuries immediately
Submit suggestions to improve safety
Know responsibilities in the event of an emergency (i.e. what to do in the event of an alarm for fire, chemical spills, tornadoes, etc.)
Be a coach to others who are acting unsafely
Must have lock‑out tags after 6 months
Attend and participate in all hazardous and non‑hazardous waste trainings
Ability to recognize chemical hazardous labels
Spill management and clean‑up
Air shut‑off locations
Capability to follow satellite accumulation rules and requirements
Proficiency to recognize hazardous wastes in your area and manage properly

Hiring hourly range Training pay $33.37, certified pay rate $37.75
Shift differential $0.50/hour for work performed on 2nd shift hours.
