Micro Soldering Technician / Repair Technician
Location: Cedar Falls, Iowa
Pay Range: $18 - $20 / hour starting compensation + full benefits package
Full Time – Monday through Friday 9a – 5p
We’re seeking a Micro Soldering Technician to perform precision board-level diagnostics and component repairs on complex electronic equipment. This role involves working on high-density circuit boards and maintaining equipment uptime through accurate and reliable component-level rework. This is a direct hire opportunity, where the right fit candidates will go directly onto the hiring company’s payroll. The hiring company is willing to offer on the job training, but the right fit candidate will have some experience or education in electrical or mechanical fields.
Key Responsibilities
Perform micro soldering and precision rework on multilayer circuit boards and high-density electronic assemblies
Replace components such as MOSFETs, temperature sensors, PICs, resistors, capacitors, power drivers, and small surface-mount ICs
Identify and diagnose hardware and software issues in a timely manner, utilizing diagnostic tools and technical expertise.
Troubleshoot circuitry using multimeters, oscilloscopes, thermal tools, and diagnostic fixtures
Utilize microscopes, hot air stations, fine-tip soldering irons, and rework equipment
Document repairs, findings, and test results accurately in internal systems
Required Skills & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or vocational training in electrical or mechanical fields preferred.
Micro soldering and PCB rework experience (preferred). Willing to train the right fit candidate.
Ability to interpret schematics, board layouts, and test‑point documentation.
Excellent fine‑motor skills and attention to detail.
Ability to lift up to 45 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with high‑power electronics, industrial control boards, servers, telecom hardware, or similar equipment.
