About the Opportunity A Busser at Vandelay Hospitality Group plays an essential role in creating a seamless and enjoyable dining experience. This position supports the servers by maintaining a clean, organized, and fully prepared dining room, ensuring each guest feels cared for from the moment they are seated. Bussers work with efficiency, attentiveness, and genuine hospitality, resetting tables promptly, monitoring guest needs, and helping maintain the overall flow of service. Above all, they contribute to an atmosphere where every guest feels welcome, comfortable, and valued, consistently helping us exceed expectations.

Core Responsibilities

Support servers by maintaining a clean, organized, and fully prepared dining room throughout service.

Reset tables quickly and accurately to ensure a seamless transition between guests.

Monitor guest needs and assist with water service, clearing plates, and delivering items as requested.

Maintain cleanliness and polish of service areas, including tables, chairs, floors, and service stations.

Communicate clearly with servers, hosts, and managers to support smooth, efficient service.

Assist in stocking and replenishing service items such as glassware, silverware, linens, and polished plateware.

Follow all opening, mid‑shift, and closing procedures to ensure readiness and a clean, orderly environment.

Uphold Vandelay’s hospitality standards by contributing to an atmosphere where every guest feels welcome, comfortable, and cared for.

Execute opening, mid‑shift, closing, and side‑work procedures to ensure the host stand and entry area remain organized, polished, and fully prepared for service.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.

Positive attitude with a strong sense of responsibility and pride in providing excellent service.

Attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.

Team‑oriented mindset, with reliable punctuality and a willingness to support teammates as needed.

Experience in an upscale, full‑service restaurant is preferred but not required.

Eagerness to learn and grow within the position and hospitality industry.

Ability to follow direction, take initiative, and maintain a clean, organized workspace.

Certification for food handling as required by state and local regulations.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Ability to work standing and walking for extended periods of time.
