Security Officer - Armed Shelter Patrols in San Antonio, TX
This part‑time role requires an armed guard card or license, at least 3 years of military, law enforcement, or armed security experience, and a valid driver’s license. You will patrol designated shelter locations, deter security‑related incidents, interact professionally with visitors and staff, support emergency response efforts, and assist with access control.
Position Type: Part Time Pay Rate: $21.00 / Hour Job Schedule: Tue 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM, Wed 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM, Thu 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM

What You’ll Do
Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner.
Conduct regular and random armed patrols around the location and its perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
Monitor for unusual activity or potential hazards, reporting observations as required by site protocols.
Interact professionally with all individuals at the location, maintaining a visible presence.
Assist with access control and verify credentials of individuals entering restricted areas as directed by site policies.
Support emergency response efforts and communicate clearly with management and local authorities as situations arise.
Minimum Requirements
An armed guard card or license is required.
Must have at least 3 years of either military, law enforcement, or armed security experience.
Must pass a Physical Fitness exam (1 mile run 12 minutes, 22 sit ups, 12 push ups).
A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with driver policy requirements.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
