About Rockville Correctional Facility :
As a part of the Indiana Department of Correction, the Rockville Correctional Facility promotes public safety by providing meaningful, effective opportunities for successful re‑entry. We strive to model best correctional practices, return productive citizens to our communities, and inspire a culture of accountability, integrity and professionalism. The Rockville Correctional Facility is an intake and medium security facility for adult females. Rockville Correctional Facility is located in Rockville, Indiana. The Department of Correction developed the facility from an Air Force base into a juvenile male facility, to co‑ed, and now to adult females alone, making it the largest female facility. The Rockville Correctional Facility serves as the intake unit for women in the Department of Correction, which involves a series of assessments to ensure each incarcerated individual is assigned to the facility and programming that best meets their needs. Incarcerated individuals have multiple educational and vocational training opportunities, including cosmetology, parenting support and a partnership with Televerde that includes training and work opportunities inside the facility and post‑release.
Role Overview
:
As a Clerical Assistant at Rockville Correctional Facility, you will work closely with training staff to ensure all paperwork is entered into the computer and filed appropriately. Other responsibilities include adding class IDs to IDOC SuccessFactors, registering participants into each class, filing staff's qualifications, ensuring 10 different qualification lists are updated for the facility, assisting with adding e‑learning to participants SuccessFactors, ensuring New Hires are added to NETP training, assisting other facilities with paperwork they may need for staff, assisting with completing ACA files, running reports to ensure training was completed for all staff, attending and assisting the Training Committee meeting, requesting new user access for IDOC, requesting supplies, and ensuring any requests from DWE or Staff are completed. This position also provides support to custody, Unit Team, Classification, and Intake when needed.
Salary Statement
:
The salary for this position traditionally starts at $27,638.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.
A Day in the Life: The essential functions of this role are as follows:
Supports the daily operations of an organization by performing general office tasks
Greets visitors and directs them to the appropriate person according to their needs.
Answers telephones and gives information to callers, takes messages, or transfers calls to appropriate individuals.
Opens, sorts, and routes incoming mail and correspondence, and prepares outgoing mail.
Operates office machines, such as photocopiers and scanners, facsimile machines, voice‑mail systems, and personal computers.
Accurately maintains and organizes office files.
Delivers messages and runs errands.
Maintains inventory, orders, and distributes supplies.
Completes tasks or projects assigned by supervisor in a timely manner.

What You'll Need for Success: The ideal candidate in this role should minimally have a
High School Diploma or equivalent

Working knowledge of general office functions and clerical procedures.
Basic computer skills
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
Attention to detail and proofreading skills
Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Ability to work with sensitive documents and information, and be privy to sensitive agency information without divulging information to internal or external parties
Ability to work independently
Ability to provide effective and professional customer service to internal and external parties.

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports: This role may provide direct supervision for one or more staff members.
