The right Tolls Attendant will include equal parts curious learner, innovator, administrator, detail driver, mentor, and motivator.

The Tolls Attendant is responsible for all aspects of the toll booth operation, to include safety, friendliness, cleanliness and line speed within assigned areas.

Additionally, the ideal candidate will be able to display and live out Lead with Love qualities, strongly rooted in the Dollywood Company culture, by being patient, kind, trusting, unselfish, truthful, forgiving, dedicated and accountable.

Summary of Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Greets guests and initiates friendly interaction. Provide guest excellence, which exceeds expectations, answers questions, and provides park information

Effectively uses empowerment to ensure Dollywood’s 100% Satisfaction Guarantee policy is implemented

Effectively performs in the role of Tolls Attendant to include (but not limited to):

Accurately sells parking tickets and processing online sales

Efficiently processes cash and credit card transactions in accordance with accounting procedures

Provides directions to meet Guest needs for refunds, exchanges and other special needs

Manages cash funds, deposits, and credit card balancing to ensure all revenue is collected and balanced daily

Promotes the value of Preferred and Valet Parking

Facilitates traffic in areas of responsibility to ensure smooth and consistent flow of traffic

Completes daily written reports and turn in any necessary paperwork to Cash Office

Operates vehicles/work each position in all weather conditions

Maintains a sense of urgency toward area of operation to reduce Guest wait time

Uses time productively to include sweeping, clearing cobwebs, straightening cones, and other similar items

Assists with other areas in parking as needed/requested by Management

Wears and maintains a themed costume issued by Dollywood

Performs special projects as directed by Management

Attends all required Training Classes and Meetings

Complies with safety and security directives, policies and procedures to ensure Hosts/Guests safety at all times

Reacts calmly and quickly in stressful/emergency situations. Physically assist Guests throughout the area as required

Visually observes guest actions during operation to prevent safety hazards

Initiates friendly interaction with guests

Works varying hours and at different areas when needed

Maintains confidentiality at all times

Follows all safety standards to include reporting any violation of standards

Management reserves the right to change and/or add to these duties at any time

Education and Experience Requirements

Must be minimum of 14 years of age

Must be able to operate Ticket Sales System, scanners, phone equipment, and mobile payment processors

Must successfully complete a pre‑employment background check including drug screen

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Must be able to project Dollywood’s image by being genuinely friendly and caring and by taking pride in their work

Must be self‑motivated and disciplined

Must be able to prioritize and complete work assignments on a timely basis

Must maintain strict confidentiality and judgment regarding privileged information

Must be willing to constantly improve

Must smile, maintain eye contact and must be aggressively friendly

Must have professional appearance with good personal hygiene

Friendly, outgoing, polite, courteous, honest, dependable, mature, positive attitude and good judgment to make sound decisions

Must tolerate a fast‑paced, hectic environment

Must be sensitive to the needs of our Guests and feel empowered to take action to meet their needs within company guidelines

Must be able to remain attentive and alert

Able to smile and make eye contact to make a friendly impression when greeting guests, vendors and other employees

Must have manual dexterity necessary to complete all job duties

Able to bend at the waist and knees for long periods of time

Able to tolerate a wide range of climate and temperature variations in order to work indoors and out, in all seasons and weather conditions

Able to maintain good personal hygiene and report in a clean costume

Able to work cooperatively with others

Able to comprehend instructions and retain information

Able to learn additional ticketing system functions

Able to move about and react quickly in emergency situations

Able to maintain dependable work attendance and flexibility with assigned work schedules including any required overtime, evenings, weekends and holidays

Give two weeks’ notice for requested days off and have all necessary schedule changes approved by leadership

Able to tolerate stress due to job responsibilities and serious consequences of making an error

Able to operate a fire extinguisher

Able to tolerate detergents and chemicals

Able to be flexible to handle frequent changes in priorities

Able to lift 50 lbs

Must be willing to perform other work functions as assigned

Able to work outdoors

Able to memorize safety standards & scripted material

Able to memorize cash handling procedures

Above average attention to detail and accuracy of information

Must be able to learn computer, Ticket Sales System, computer scanning equipment, and printer equipment

Must be able to operate Ticket Sales System, scanners, phone equipment, and mobile payment processors
