FTE: 1.00 Full Time Shift: Rotating
Position Summary Perform a variety of clerical duties in support of nutritional care and patient food service area. Ensure adherence to Hospital and Departmental Policies and Procedures. No patient care assignment.
Responsibilities
MENUS - Correct menus according to diet plan, tally menus and prepare food production guide
COMPLIANCE - Adhere and ensure compliance with departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards, JCAHO and other regulatory agency requirements
RECORDS - Maintain and prepare various patient records to include labels, cardexes and menus; record diet changes and update changes accordingly
PATIENT TRAYS - Prepare and distribute menus; deliver patient formulas and trays according to schedule
INVENTORY - Stock a variety of materials and supplies to ensure adequate inventory; order supplies as needed
COMPUTER AND PHONES - Operate computer to retrieve information; answer phone calls related to patient nutrition care taking appropriate action
INTERPERSONAL RELATIONS - Establish and maintain effective interpersonal business relationships with patients, visitors, physicians and all Hospitals personnel
TRAYS - Check patient trays for accuracy
RELATED WORK - Perform related duties and responsibilities as required
Qualifications Education:
Essential: Not Required
Experience:
Essential: 6 months directly related experience
Nonessential: No preferred experience

Physical Conditions:
Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Sedentary Work. May require walking or standing to a significant degree or requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or may require working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of materials is negligible.
Working conditions:
Essential: Minor Hazard - physical risks, dirt, dust, fumes, noise; Tuberculosis testing is completed upon hire and additionally as required
