Boiler Technician Location:
Omaha, NE Pay:
$27.00 - $38.60 per hour
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Boiler Technician to join our team. The Boiler Technician will be responsible for monitoring, adjusting, and maintaining a variety of plant equipment, including hydraulics, pneumatics, potable water systems, steam distribution systems, boilers, water systems, and pumping systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background with experience in several areas such as electrical, fluid power, welding, and fabrication.
As a Boiler Technician, you will be part of a team that ensures safe, efficient, and effective operation of our equipment. This is a floating position, meaning you will be required to work various shifts as needed to support operations. You will also be expected to assist engineers and contractors with projects, attend meetings related to boiler and water systems, and maintain thorough documentation and logs.
Responsibilities
Proficiency in mechanical systems, including basic electrical, electrical controls, fluid power, and welding
Previous experience or education in industrial maintenance, mechanical work, or a related field
Ability to work various shifts as required
Strong communication skills and the ability to work with others and independently
Capable of understanding and utilizing technical manuals and training materials
Accurate record-keeping of maintenance logs and operational readings
Attend relevant meetings concerning boiler, hot water, and air compressor systems
Assist engineers and contractors with ongoing projects
Maintain a self-motivated and adaptable work approach
Must Haves/Requirements Summary
City of Omaha 3rd Grade Engineer’s License
Minimum of one year of documented maintenance work experience OR graduation from an industrial maintenance training program (combination of experience and education may be acceptable)
Proficient in Process Safety Management (PSM) experience
Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds
Able to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, climbing stairs and ladders, bending, stretching, and reaching
Ability to work independently and adapt to changing conditions in a dynamic environment
Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions
