Rollback Truck Driver
to join our team. You will be responsible for operating a specialized flatbed tow truck (rollback) to safely transport vehicles, equipment, or machinery. The ideal candidate possesses a clean Class C driving record, strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to providing professional customer service during recovery and transport operations

Key Responsibilities
Vehicle Operation:
Safely operate a rollback tow truck to transport disabled, damaged, or illegally parked vehicles and equipment.
Loading & Securing:
Utilize hydraulic systems to lower the flatbed, then load and secure vehicles using winches, chains, and tie-downs to ensure damage-free transport.
Safety & Compliance:
Adhere to all DOT regulations, including Hours of Service (HOS) rules and mandatory electronic logging if applicable. Must wear seatbelts at all times while in the vehicle.
Inspections:
Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections (DVIR), documenting critical components like brakes, tires, and lighting.
Customer Service:
Act as a professional first responder to stranded motorists, providing jump starts, lockouts, or fuel delivery as needed.
Documentation:
Accurately complete condition reports, shipping papers, and billing paperwork for every tow or transport.
Job Duties
Load and unload trucks hauling scrap metal.
Inspect and determine metal grade for inventory tracking.
Perform DOT daily operation and safety inspection.
Communicate with office and customers to determine commodities to load.
Work independently when driving scrap metal.
Assist customers with their needs and resolve problems.
Collaborate with other employees in the scrap metal yard to ensure a safe working environment.
Perform normal daily operation maintenance: refueling, lubrication, cooling system cleaning, and housekeeping.
Clean up work area at the end of shift.
Keep work areas neat and orderly.
Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
Dispose of various waste materials in the appropriate manner.
Perform inspection to ensure cleanup is completed.
Maintain effective housekeeping for safety and hygienic conditions for all team members.
Required Qualifications
License:
A valid state-issued
Class C License
(Commercial or Non-Commercial depending on the vehicle's GVWR under 26,001 lbs.).
Mechanical Aptitude:
Ability to perform minor roadside repairs and troubleshoot hydraulic equipment.
Tech Savvy:
Proficiency in using GPS, dispatch software, and ELD (Electronic Logging Devices).
Driving Record:
A clean MVR with no recent major violations or DUIs. Must pass DOT Background.
Medical:
Must pass DOT Physical, drug screen and background.
Experience:
Prior experience operating rollback or flatbed equipment is preferred; 1–3 years of service truck experience.
Language:
Must meet federal English proficiency requirements to converse with the public and understand highway signs.
Physical Requirements
Physical Strength:
Must pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
Work in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain).
Sensory Demands:
Hearing, vision, touch, smell, and taste; able to read and write in English language.
Problem Solving:
Staying calm and finding solutions in high-stress roadside environments or heavy traffic.
Hand Movements:
Repetitive motions, gripping.
