The Fire Alarm Technician I performs preventive and corrective maintenance tasks on Fire Alarm systems. Responsibilities include: Repair and maintenance of contract buildings, specializing in advanced troubleshooting of multiple Fire Alarm and Mass Notification systems. Utilize advanced knowledge to repair Fire Alarm circuits (loop open circuits, circuit shorts, ground faults). Program Monaco M1, M2, MAAP+, MAAPX, and BTX Communicators to the Monaco D21 front end. Use Honeywell EBI to troubleshoot trouble buildings. Perform preventive maintenance activities such as device cleaning, adjustments, battery replacements, and component replacements. Apply technical knowledge to resolve routine problems using manufacturers' manuals. Familiarity with NFPA-70, NFPA-72, and UFC 3-601-02 standards. Work independently under minimal supervision, providing technical guidance to other technicians as needed. Conduct corrective maintenance on electrical components of Fire Alarm Systems at military installations. Ensure Fire Alarm equipment, instruments, products, and systems conform to safety and quality standards. Verify system components report to the FACP and test alarm, trouble, and supervisory signals. Analyze systemic failure data to determine causes and develop solutions. Complete SO reports and technical documentation in accordance with program requirements and quality standards. Perform rotating on-call duties as required. Description and Qualifications
NICET I Certification and 3+ years of experience in testing, repairing, troubleshooting, and installing complex Fire Alarm and MNS equipment required. High school diploma and advanced electronics training (e.g., junior college, military service, trade school) preferred. 5% travel required. Ability to work in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, etc.). Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and climb towers up to 50 feet (training provided). Basic proficiency in Microsoft Suite, Internet, and email. Ability to pass a background check to access US military installations. Additional Qualifications
Experience with Fire Alarming, Suppression, and Detection Systems, Fire Sprinkler Systems, Fire Pumps (Electric and Diesel), Interior Mass Notification Systems, EBI, Monaco D21 monitoring system, and associated equipment. Knowledge of Fire Extinguishers, Halon-FM 200 Systems, Standpipes, Honeywell and Monaco fire alarm servers and workstations, and related equipment. Completion of the 30-hour OSHA Construction safety class or equivalent. Pay Rate $32.15+ depending on Experience/NICET Level. Security Clearance Requirement
