Liquid Handling Equipment, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Shop Technician to join our team in the Knoxville, TN office. This role is critical for performing specialized repairs on Sundyne equipment and other pump lines represented by our company. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in enabling our Knoxville office to achieve the Sundyne Authorized Service Center designation through excellence in repair services. This position involves both in-shop repairs and on-site customer engagements for equipment pickup. Additionally, the role includes responsibilities in shipping and receiving, with the opportunity for further specialization and growth within the company. Initial training will be conducted in Charlotte with experienced team members, minimizing travel costs while maximizing skill development. This position is ideal for individuals with a strong background in pump repairs and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
Responsibilities
Conduct in-shop repairs on Sundyne equipment and other pump lines, ensuring high-quality service and reliability.
Participate in factory training to obtain necessary certifications and knowledge for equipment repair and service.
Travel to customer sites within the Knoxville area for equipment pickup and assessment for repairs.
Assist in shipping and receiving tasks alongside team members, with the potential to focus more on technical and customer service roles as the team expands.
Undergo training in Charlotte with senior team members to gain comprehensive knowledge of vendor-specific repair processes.
Maintain clear and effective communication with customers, providing updates on repair statuses and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
Ensure adherence to safety protocols and standards in all repair and maintenance activities.
Requirements
Proven experience in pump repairs and maintenance, with a strong understanding of mechanical systems.
Willingness to undergo factory training for Sundyne equipment and other pump lines represented by the company.
Ability to travel to customer sites for equipment pickup and delivery.
Capability to work collaboratively with the shipping and receiving department, demonstrating versatility and teamwork.
Eagerness to learn and grow within the company, including participating in training sessions in Charlotte.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective customer interactions.
A commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement in all aspects of work.
