Groundwork Operations, LLC provides general and specialized crew for indoor and outdoor events across New York City, New Jersey, Philadelphia, and Boston areas. Our crew works projects of all sizes, from single‑member set‑ups to large‑scale events such as the NY Marathon, where shifts are available daily for weeks.
JOB DESCRIPTION: This gig‑based role offers flexible shift work, including overnights and weekends, for those seeking supplemental income or a career in event production.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Load and unload trucks; secure freight with pallet jacks, hand trucks, and ratchet straps.
Set up and break down tents, tables, chairs, barricades, signage, and hardware structures.
Package, palletize, and remove trash.
HARD SKILLS
Safely drive a 26‑ft box truck through New York City and surrounding areas.
Adhere to all applicable traffic rules, height clearances, and commercial routes.
Maintain truck functionality and daily upkeep (fuel, DEF, lift gate).
Load, secure, and unload a wide range of freight by using pallet jacks, hand trucks, ratchet straps, and other equipment.
Lift 100 pounds.
Reach, kneel, and bend.
Safely use basic tools (hammers, screwdrivers, wrenches, box cutters).
SOFT SKILLS
Manage a gig‑based schedule without missing shifts.
Give praise, receive constructive criticism, and work toward ongoing self‑improvement.
Communicate and collaborate with clients and coworkers.
Maintain a positive attitude in stressful situations.
Follow directions and execute tasks with attention to detail.
Adhere to standard procedures and safe work practices in a fast‑paced environment.
HIRING REQUIREMENTS
Valid State ID.
Working email address.
Consistent working smartphone with a data plan to download and operate mobile apps.
Ability to complete online employment paperwork with e‑signature functionality.
Arrive on site for the first shift in the minimum required uniform—all‑black attire (no large logos or writing) with work gloves.
BONUS EXPERIENCE
Operating forks, scissor, or boom lifts.
Professional moving experience.
Warehouse, packing, shipping, and receiving.
Stagehand, AV, concert, and theater work.
NOTE This is a gig‑based position, NOT a full‑time or part‑time role with a consistent schedule. Do you have a valid Commercial Driver’s License? Are you familiar with and able to adhere to all applicable traffic regulations? These questions are optional and not required for consideration.
