Volleyball Instructor / Official About i9 Sports i9 Sports is the nation’s first and largest provider of youth sports leagues, camps and clinics whose mission is to help kids succeed in life through sports. We offer sports programs for boys and girls ages 3-14 in today’s most popular sports like flag football, soccer, basketball, volleyball and t-ball.

About the Job We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Volleyball Instructor/Official to join our team and play a pivotal role in the development of young volleyball players 7-14 years old. As a Volleyball Instructor & Official, you will be responsible for teaching fundamental volleyball skills, officiating games & facilitating practices while ensuring a fun and educational experience for our participants.

Instructor/Official Shifts are weekends only with shifts available on Saturday and/or Sunday. Our venues are located across Reston, Fairfax, Vienna, and Annandale/Falls Church, Arlington, Dc, and Maryland.

Upcoming League Schedules January 10th-February 22nd - Winter Season

April 6th to June 2nd - Spring League

Key Responsibilities

Instruction and Skill Development

Teach young athletes the fundamental skills and techniques of volleyball including bumping, passing, setting, and serving.

Implement age-appropriate drills and exercises to enhance players' volleyball abilities (Practice plans created and provided by i9 Sports).

Provide constructive feedback to help players improve their performance.

Complete mandatory pre season training sessions (Financially Compensated)

Game Officiating

Serve as an official for youth volleyball games, ensuring fair play and adherence to rules.

Maintain a professional and unbiased demeanor while officiating games.

Address rule violations and conflicts with fairness and diplomacy.

Safety and Supervision

Ensure the safety of all participants during practices & games.

Supervise and manage groups of young athletes, maintaining a positive and inclusive atmosphere.

Address any safety concerns promptly and appropriately.

Communication

Maintain open and effective communication with parents, participants, and fellow staff members.

Provide updates on program activities via Connecteam.

Address questions, concerns, and feedback from parents and participants professionally.

Qualifications

Previous experience coaching or playing volleyball.

Knowledge of volleyball rules and regulations.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially when working with children and parents.

A passion for youth sports and the development of young athletes.

Patience, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.

Availability to work each weekend of the given season (Late Fall, Winter, Spring, etc.)

Ability to efficiently solve problems

Ability to motivate and manage others (i.e. coaches)

Extremely reliable and responsible

Must be 16 years of age or older

Must have own vehicle/reliable transportation

Must be able to pass background check
