Job Summary UT Southwestern is actively seeking an experienced and highly motivated Interior Plantscape Technician (Senior Groundskeeper) to join our Landscape Services team. As an Interior Plantscape Technician, you will oversee the care, maintenance, and enhancement of the health and aesthetics of plant displays across our portfolio of interior landscapes in and around campus buildings.

This role is responsible for the end-to-end care of indoor greenery, coordinating interior landscape operations, ensuring the highest standards of horticultural excellence, and providing guidance to grounds staff. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical expertise, sound judgement, and a commitment to maintaining safe, attractive, and well-presented indoor/outdoor environments. Works under general supervision to supervise and/or perform skilled groundskeeping and general gardening duties on grounds or in greenhouse of university.

Work Location Dallas Campus; assist other facilities and/or locations as needed.

Shift Requirement 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday; occasional overtime as needed.

Experience and Education Required

Education

Minimum 8th grade education

Experience

2 years experience as Groundskeeper, or equivalent.

Licenses and Certifications

(DRIVERS) DRIVERS LICENSE Valid State of Texas Driver's License required or obtained within 6 months of being hired. within 180 Days

Job Duties

Participates in work of groundskeeper by cultivating, pruning, fertilizing, planting and transplanting a wide variety of shrubs, plants, trees flowers & tropical plants.

Waters trees, shrubs, seedlings, flowers, lawns & tropical plants. Monitors plants for insects or diseases.

Prepares propagation beds, potting materials and repots tropical plantings.

Cuts grass, using push or riding mowers.

Assists with special projects, special event set ups and Interiorscape installations.

Trims & edges sidewalks, driveways and flower beds.

Cuts weeds and brush, and removes leaves and rubbish from grounds and campus Interiorscapes.

Coaches new employees in duties and techniques to be employed. Monitors work in absence of foreman ensuring assignments are completed.

Evaluate potential hazards of assigned duties and complete work in a safe & productive manner.

Proper use, care, maintenance and secure storage of University vehicle, equipment & tools assigned.

Performs related duties as assigned.
